Effects of Poor Posture

Unexpected effects of Poor Posture

Poor posture has become an epidemic in the United States.  80-90% of people have developed poor posture to some degree or another.  The effects of poor posture can be far reaching.  Most people know that poor posture can lead to neck pain, shoulder pain, even headaches.  But there are some other effects that we should all be aware of also.

Studies show that people with poor posture are more likely to be depressed than people with good posture.  People with poor posture are also more likely to be constipated because poor posture reduces intestinal flow.  Poor posture can result in reduced circulation and even an increase in diabetes and heart disease.  Finally, poor posture can increase cortisol levels and therefore STRESS!

Improving posture is a simple process that can be achieved with regular and specific exercises.  As we can now see, the benefits of improving posture are important for maintaining health and a good quality of life.  Dr. Hadden can design a posture improvement program just for you.  Please call us at (636)272-7473 for more information.
